Mercyhealth’s Beloit Clinic transformed its 14,000-square-foot facility into a modern, patient-focused healthcare environment through a 7,500-square-foot addition and complete interior renovation. The upgraded first floor now includes a 24-hour emergency department with state-of-the-art imaging, lab, and ambulance services, while the second floor features redesigned clinic spaces and administrative offices.
Delivering this complex renovation required exceptional mechanical coordination and craftsmanship. Hooper’s team overcame challenges of tight ceiling spaces and active healthcare operations through precise planning and execution. Hooper used advanced Trimble layout technology to perfectly align every duct, pipe, and piece of equipment with the BIM model and ensured collaboration among trades.
A project highlight was assembling a large custom air handling unit delivered in multiple sections. Hooper’s crew meticulously aligned and connected each component, achieving a seamless fit within the existing system.
One of the primary challenges Hooper faced was coordinating and installing new ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment within extremely limited ceiling spaces while navigating around other trades and existing medical equipment.
