Heritage Elementary School
Location: Waunakee, Wisconsin
Areas of Expertise: Fire Protection, HVAC, Plumbing
The new Heritage Elementary School features larger classrooms, a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) area, dedicated rooms for early childhood and kindergarten students, and flex cafes for each grade level that provide extra space and flexibility throughout the day.
Our Plumbing team provided design-assist services for the project and installed sanitary, storm, and grease sanitary waste systems along with an exterior grease interceptor, water softeners, water heaters, a drain tile system, and a domestic water distribution system. Our team installed 17,000 feet of copper water distribution piping and 14,000 feet of PVC drain piping.
Elementary schools require three different mounting heights for plumbing fixtures based on the grade level. In addition, Waunakee School District requested delayed automatic flush sensors in the early childhood wing because the immediate flush of the toilets frightens some young students. Hooper worked with Sloan, our flush valve manufacturer, who sourced a 20-second flush delay chip.
Hooper’s HVAC and Fire Protection teams also assisted on this project.
