Madison Public Market
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Areas of Expertise: Plumbing
The Madison Public Market will be a year-round community hub celebrating local food, culture, and entrepreneurship while boosting the city’s economic vitality. The 55,000-square-foot market features permanent vendors, rotating merchant spaces, and flexible event areas. It transforms the City’s former Fleet Services Building, which was selected for its open layout, central location, and durability. A city-led effort and guided by the Public Market Development Committee, the new Madison Public Market will be a thriving downtown attraction.
Hooper’s Plumbing team played a key role in converting the former fleet facility into a modern, sustainable space. Their work included installing a rainwater harvesting system, a 1,000-gallon grease interceptor, and all-new roof drainage, sanitary, domestic water, and natural gas systems. Tight spatial constraints made routing new piping and equipment installations particularly complex, requiring careful coordination and creative problem-solving. The project is pursuing LEED BD+C Silver certification for its environmentally responsible design and construction.
